I am writing you to thank you for introducing me to the use of natural progesterone. When you first told me about it I was very skeptical. As I listened to the tapes by Dr. Lee and read his book, it became apparent that perhaps there were some applications for this product in my practice. As you know, as an OB-Gyn I see many patients with PMS, irregular bleeding, pill problems, endometriosis and menopause.

My first usage of the natural progesterone was reserved and after long counseling with some of my long standing patients. I would preface my talk with, "please don't think I am crazy, but..." As I have gained experience with the use of the natural progesterone my talks have become less defensive-but are still necessary so that the patient understands what we are attempting to accomplish with the natural progesterone. I currently have a dozen or so patients who are using the natural progesterone cream who have given me feedback as to its effectiveness. I now have had "success" treating PMS related migraines, moodiness, and dysmenorrhea. I have one patient who is having success treating endometriosis and several who are successful treating breast tenderness.

My other use of the progesterone cream has been for older women who do not want estrogen. They are anxious for something affordable that may prevent osteoporosis. Fosamax and Calcitonin-Salmon are both very expensive. I have found that women are very receptive to this alternative and I have used my new found experience and knowledge as a practice builder. I am so excited about the results that I am getting using the "Happy PMS" cream that I am compelled to write this, my second letter to you.

As I wrote you a couple of months ago, I stopped taking my estrogen in March of this year. I also had been taking syn-thyroid .125 for the last five years after being diagnosed with hypothyroidism. The medication never did seem to do me any good and I had asked several doctors and pharmacists over the years if I could just quit taking the medication. All of them said, "Oh, no you can never stop taking it, it would be very dangerous for you to stop." Well, I had been feeling so good after stopping the estrogen that I just decided one day - well the doctor told me I couldn't stop taking estrogen and I feel wonderful, I am just going to stop the syn-thyroid too. I was just going to try it for a few days and see if I could tell any differences without it.

Well... I am now five months into my experiment to be off of all medication and I am proud to say that I have been feeling more like I did 10-15 years ago, every single day.

These are the benefits that I have already experienced: I have had no headaches, I haven't taken a single aspirin since going off the medications. Before, I had headaches at least 4 to 5 times a week. I feel very free, not having to be bothered with remembering to take a "Pill" every day. My hair had been thinning ever since my hysterectomy and the onset of taking estrogen 18 years ago. It is now starting to thicken up and seems to be healthier. Please understand that I want to make one point perfectly clear. I certainly don't recommend that any person who truly has hypothyroidism to just stop taking their medication without their doctor's approval; however, the reason that I have told you about my experience is that doctors sometimes misdiagnosis. I truly don't think that I ever had hypothyroidism in the first place. That is why I did not feel any different when they put me on it 5 years ago and it did not help any of my symptoms, then when I expressed this to the doctors over the last 5 years and I told them about the headaches, chest pains and accelerated heart beat episodes, they would just scoff it off and say well you need your medicine and everything is OK. This is why I did not have any "problems" when I stopped taking the medicine instead I felt better, because I didn't need it in the first place.

In November 1995, a good friend who knew I was having difficulty with menopause sent me a jar of Happy PMS cream. She told me by phone how it had helped her and others. I was very skeptical that a cream you rub in twice a day could be of any benefit.
